It's the last week of summer!  For some, that means that crisp, cool Autumn days have already made an appearance.  For others, it means we still have a few weeks of hot weather to tolerate.  Whether you're looking for a refreshing beverage to help you cool down, or are looking to hold on to summer for just a few more days, the Food of the Month Club round-up has a delightful collection of Summer Beverages that is the perfect way to say farewell to summer.

To get things started, my friend Maura from The Other Side of the Tortilla, introduces us to La Paloma, a "refreshing, classic Mexican cocktail", made with grapefruit juice and tequila.

Next up we have a stunning Agua de Jamaica (Hibiscus Tea Water) from another foodie friend of mine, Bren Herrera from Flanboyant Eats.  This is a tart and delicious way to keep cool, "especially when it’s hot and humid out."  This beverage can also be enjoyed during the fall and winter thanks to the ginger, clove, and orange peel, whose flavors and aromas are perfect for the holidays.

If you like Piña Coladas, then you'll love what Natalia from Comiendo en LA whipped up for us: Piña Coladas made with two kinds of rum, fresh pineapple, and whipped cream.

Natalia also shares her recipe for a rich and cool Banana-Coffee Frappe!

My BFF (best foodie friend) Girlichef served up this bright and sunny Pineapple-Vanilla Agua Fresca that looks and tastes like summer in a glass.

Girlichef also made Coconut Horchata, which combines everything you love about Horchata with the tropical flavor of coconut milk.

Eva from TechFoodLife offers us a delightful, summery twist to traditional lemonade with Watermelon Lemonade.

Ckay from Sweet and That's It gives us a delicious way to start our day with her Frulatto, a fruit and yogurt smoothie made with apples, banana, orange, and mango.

My friends from Peru Delights introduce us to Chicha Morada, a traditional Peruvian beverage made with purple corn, pineapple, apple, and quince, seasoned with cinnamon, cloves, and allspice.

Heather from Malice in Dunderland shares two creamy banana beverages:  Batido de Guineo (Banana Milk)

and Felicidad del Guineo, a banana slushie with with orange juice and coconut milk.

My other BFF, Vianney from Sweet Life, shares her Agua de Zanahoria y Piña (Carrot & Pineapple Cooler), that I'm sure will instantly become my hubby's new favorite Agua Fresca.

Vianney also treats us to two of her famous margaritas!  The first is a gorgeous cotton candy hued Plum Pineapple Margarita.

And the second is this sweet Prickly Pear Margarita that uses green tunas (prickly pears).

The girls from Muy Bueno Cookbook, whose first cookbook comes out next month, share their Agua de Piña recipe with us.

And finally my contribution to the Summer Beverages round-up: Agua de Frutas (Papaya, Guava & Apple Punch),

Shirley Temples,

and Banana Daiquiris.

As always, thank you so much to all who participated.  This is the biggest FOTMC turn-out we've ever had! If you would like to be included in the next Food of the Month Club Round-Up, we're cooking with apples this month.  See the announcement post for more details.

18 Summer Beverages to Enjoy Before Fall {FOTMC Round-Up}

If you've ever found yourself standing in your kitchen, asking "Ground beef, again???  What can I possibly make with it today that my family will love?", then you've come to the right place.  Ground Beef was our feature ingredient for the Food of the Month Club last month, and today, I am finally getting around to posting the delicious Round-Up.  (So sorry for the delay.)

To start things off, our friends from Peru Delights introduce us to Rocoto Relleno.  Rocotos may look like your ordinary bell pepper, but after one bite, you'll definitely taste the difference, because these gorgeous little peppers are definitely packing heat.  Stuffed with minced or ground meat and lots of ooey, gooey melted cheese, my mouth is watering just thinking about them.

Corina from Searching for Spice puts a flavorful twist on a family favorite with these Mediterranean Meatballs, that includes a little chorizo in the mix.

Sarah shares her spicy New Mexican Meatloaf , on her new blog, A Kitchen Canvas.

Girlichef is serving up big bowls of spicy Pasilla Bolognese Spaghetti.

Elizabeth from The Law Student's Cookbook prepared Baker's Edge Lasagna, that she baked in a special pan that guarantees that everyone gets an edge piece.

Heather from Malice in Dunderland has a meat-free alternative with these Native American Sweet Meatballs that are actually made with tofu!

And last but not least, I made Sloppy Jose's; a slightly spicier version of Sloppy Joe's.

A big thank you to all of my foodie friends for sharing their favorite Ground Beef recipes.  If you would like to be featured in the next Food of the Month Club Round-Up, tune in later today to find out what ingredient (or theme) will be our next Food of the Month.

Where's the Beef? {FOTMC Ground Beef Round-Up}

If you love tomatoes, then you're in the right place!  Today, I'm rounding up the recipes from the first ever Food of the Month Club.

If you're anything like my friend (and birthday girl), Ericka from Nibbles & Feast, who wasn't really a fan of tomatoes, this gorgeous Heirloom Tomato Salad with Pasta, Watercress, Pine Nuts and Basil Oil is sure to change your mind.

Sarah from Kitchen Procrastination cooked up a delicious plate of Smothered Chicken with Bacon and Burst Cherry Tomatoes.

Rory from Mamá Contemporanea, introduced us to a special Venezuelan treat called Bollitos Pelones.

Girlichef brought us two truly tantalizing tomato recipes, starting with Slow-Roasted Golden Yellow Cherry Tomatoes with Garlic & Marjoram.

And this Smoky Tomato Rissoto, that just looks SO comforting.  Perfect for this cold winter weather.  (Or anytime of the year.)

Jennifer, a fellow expat living in El Salvador, inspired by the shrimp cocktail she used to enjoy at her favorite Mexican restaurant in Georgia, created these Shrimp Tostadas, on her blog, Life in the Armpit.

Nicole from Presley's Pantry is a girl after my own heart with  her easy to make Homemade Pizza topped with slices of tomato.

Vianney from Sweet Life, shares her recipe for Salsa Cruda, made with refreshing pieces of jicama.  I think I might have to make this for my Super Bowl party this weekend.

And last but not least, my contribution to the Food of the Month Club.  Taking advantage of the beautiful and tasty cherry tomatoes that were available here in Mexico in early January, I made this Cherry Tomato & Panela Cheese Salad with Chile de Arbol Infused Olive Oil.

Before sitting down to watch Eat Pray Love, I cooked up a plate of Spaghetti al Pomodoro.

And I had to include this recipe for Tomato Cobbler, which was one of the first recipes I thought of when I was dreaming up with the idea for Food of the Month Club.

Thank you to all of my wonderful foodie friends for joining me for the first edition of The Food of the Month Club.  I really enjoyed cooking with all of you and can't wait to see what deliciousness you're going to come up with next month.

If you would like to be included in the next Food of the Month Club Round-Up, be sure to tune in tomorrow to discover February's Food of the Month.

Food of the Month Club: Tomato Round-Up

Today is a very special day at my house.  It's Christmas Adam.  (The day before Christmas Eve.)  It's a day of baking all kinds of goodies to share with our family and friends, and of course, a couple of cookies for Santa Claus.

Because Christmas cookies are meant to be shared, I thought I'd share some of my favorite cookie recipes from some very good friends of mine.  (I'll be baking a few of these myself today.)

Happy baking and Merry Christmas Adam to all!
